Aircraft Mechanic


Kenmore Air is an iconic company dedicated to its employees and customers! Serving the Pacific Northwest for nearly 80 years, we provide scenic tours, scheduled service and charters. We also operate two airplane maintenance facilities, sell airplane parts and provide flight instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and identify defective or broken parts on aircraft as well as make repairs to gas/diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Run diagnostic tests to identify malfunctions
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual checks on the aircraft.
  • Maintain records relating to maintenance.
  • Ensure our aircraft services team can operate effectively by providing proper preventative care to equipment and timely repairs to broken equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate (A&P Certificate).
  • Minimum of two (2) years current general aviation maintenance experience, preferred.
  • A valid US Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass background check, drug test, and employment verification.
  • A complete set of tools designed for or appropriate for aircraft maintenance.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Problem solving and organization skills are required
  • Exercise good judgment in working with people in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending and stooping to pick up tow bars and other equipment, up to 50 lbs.
  • Stooping below wings to chock aircraft.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Good hand-eye coordination with good peripheral vision.
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs.
  • Frequent lifts or pulls of up to 50 lbs. are normal and the physical requirements include stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending, twisting, sitting, crouching, reaching, and handling.
  • Ability withstand exposure to loud aircraft noise, chemicals, jet fuels and hydraulic fluids.
