Job Title: RS Aircraft Painter Sr Location: Savannah, GA 31408 Duration: 4 years Pay Rate: $30.35 per hour Shift Timings: 3rd Shift, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM Job Description: The RS Aircraft Painter Sr will be responsible for safely preparing, painting, and detailing aircraft. The role involves working independently with minimal supervision and ensuring all tasks comply with company and FAA standards. Additionally, this role will provide leadership in the absence of a supervisor and assist in training and guiding other painters. Key Responsibilities: Aircraft Preparation and Painting: Perform painting and detailing under minimal supervision. Coordinate with supervision and inspection teams to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications. Leadership and Mentorship: Act as the lead in the absence of a supervisor. Assist with work assignment and guidance for team members. Tool and Equipment Management: Use tools like dual-action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers, following standard operating procedures. Proper care and maintenance of shop tools and equipment. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety rules, address unsafe conditions, and use protective equipment as needed. Handle sealants, paint strippers, and chemicals following safety guidelines. Material and Process Tracking: Use the material tracking system to manage parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work. Aircraft Movement Assistance: Assist in the movement of aircraft within the hangars. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and offer suggestions for process improvements. Skills and Education Required: High School Diploma or GED (required). Minimum of 4 years of related paint process experience (preferably in the aircraft industry). Advanced knowledge of various paint processes and products (lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, acrylics). Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation. Familiarity with the GAMPS, paint operations SPT manual, and paint WFR processes. Must be computer literate and able to use the material tracking system. Certifications and Physical Requirements: Valid Driver’s License (required). Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification. Ability to climb ladders, work in small spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work various shifts.
