Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
Performs close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
Locates blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
Performs sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.
Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification or repair.
Uses tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
Applies knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures and replacement of components.
Applies knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair and determines functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
Uses aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
Accesses aircraft data via computer systems and initiates on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
Maintains necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
Requirements:
Ability to Obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
9+ years of experience in the position responsibilities previously described.
9+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
Ability to handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.
Familiarity with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out or Tag systems applications.
Preferred: Experience with Fighter or Depot Level or Heavy Structures maintenance.
Preferred: Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.
