JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structures Fabrication Level C
LOCATION:San Antonio, TX
PAY RATE: $50.00/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

  • Are you a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance?

Summary: 

  • Performs close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.

  • Locates blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.

  • Performs sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes.

  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification or repair.

  • Uses tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.

  • Applies knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair procedures and replacement of components.

  • Applies knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair and determines functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

  • Uses aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.

  • Accesses aircraft data via computer systems and initiates on-line parts and discrepancy requests.

  • Maintains necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.

Requirements:

  • Ability to Obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • 9+ years of experience in the position responsibilities previously described.

  • 9+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.

  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

  • Ability to handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials.

  • Familiarity with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out or Tag systems applications.

  • Preferred: Experience with Fighter or Depot Level or Heavy Structures maintenance.

  • Preferred: Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.
