DPP is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic for an opportunity with our client in the Defense & Space Manufacturing industry.
Work location: Onsite in Saint Augustine, FL Work shift: 1st shift (6 AM – 4:30 PM); 2nd shift (4:30 PM – 3 AM) Duration: 12 months Terms: W2 position Work authorization: US Citizen
Position summary:
The Aircraft Structures Mechanic 3 will perform a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of operations to assemble and make major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
Aligns parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
Performs such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
Measures parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic qualifications:
Ability to understand and interpret blueprints
Ability to comprehend engineering requirements and put them into practice
Independently perform complex, depot-level structural repairs and modifications.
Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify parts.
Work with various materials, including aluminum and composites.
May mentor lower-level technicians.
Preferred qualifications:
Extensive experience with composites, structural repair, and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
Ability to work as a lead technician, guiding lower-level employees, and working independently.
Must perform strenuous work, including lifting 25–50 lbs. working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
