PGS Worldwide is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic in Lake Charles, LA for a 6-month onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Aircraft Structures Mechanic will support aircraft maintenance, structural repair, modification, inspection, and troubleshooting on a U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance program. This is a Service Contract Act position requiring strong aircraft structures experience, sheet metal repair knowledge, technical data interpretation, and the ability to support complex aircraft maintenance and modification work.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• 10+ years of relevant aircraft maintenance or structures experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures, structural components, and engines.
• Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural modification and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, process specifications, and written instructions.
• Experience using aircraft tools and test equipment, including torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
• Ability to use hand tools such as crimpers, strippers, wire cutters, and heat shrink guns.
• Ability to work in approved environments during specified work hours.
• Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear.
• Ability to work around physical conditions including heights and closed spaces.

Preferred Skills

• A&P License.
• E-6B/707 experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain, repair, inspect, and modify aircraft structures, components, and systems.
• Support aircraft sheet metal and structural modification work.
• Troubleshoot aircraft mechanical components and determine repair or replacement methods.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, periodic, phase, and other scheduled inspections.
• Maintain and repair flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories as needed.
• Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and electrical components.
• Make entries in aircraft logs and records.
• Provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians during maintenance and modification work.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Candidates must be able to work any of the following shifts:
• Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 4:42 PM, with potential overtime.
• Thursday-Sunday, 4:00 PM - 2:42 AM, with potential overtime.
• Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:42 PM, with potential overtime.
• Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:42 AM, with potential overtime.

Pay

• $42.04 per hour
