JOB TITLE: Aircraft Structures Skin Repair
LOCATION:Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $55.00 – 56.00/hr

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Qualifying Questions:

Summary: 

  • Assembles, installs, seals, rigs, and inspects precision structural and system components using drawings, process specifications, and quality control requirements.

  • Functional tests and corrects fit, form, and function of assemblies and components.

  • Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, and verbal or electronic data.

  • Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments and functional tests.

  • Verifies work per work instructions and engineering specifications and identifies discrepancies per applicable procedures.

  • Performs routine minor machine maintenance including filter replacement, bulb changes, and lubrication or coolant level maintenance.

  • Verifies dimensions of parts using mechanical and electronic measurement tools and initiates corrective action for programming issues.

  • Performs complete inspection including first part review of procured or fabricated parts and assemblies.

  • Sets up and operates conventional and CNC fastening equipment (MTGRs, Brotje, C-Frames, IPACs) to assemble components.

  • Provides high-level technical support and leadership relative to assembly and installation.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • 11+ years of Structures or Sheet metal experience required.

  • Must be able to pass the plate test to sustain on the project.

  • Experience with fuselage integration and structural assembly.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, prints, and work instructions.

  • Experience with precision measuring instruments including mechanical and electronic measurement tools.

  • Experience with conventional and CNC fastening equipment (MTGRs, Brotje, C-Frames, IPACs).

  • Experience performing first article inspection and Material Review Board (MRB) non-conformance documentation.

  • Experience with process surveillance to assure compliance with requirements.

  • Ability to maintain required personal certifications for inspection duties.
