Position – Aircraft Structures Technician I
Location: Gilbert, AZ

We are currently seeking Aircraft Structures Technician I candidates to support structural maintenance and repair operations in Gilbert, AZ. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined candidates looking to build a long-term career in aircraft structures and aviation maintenance while working in a fast-paced MRO environment.

Summary

The Aircraft Structures Technician I assists with basic structural repairs, disassembly, inspections, and sheet metal tasks under close supervision. This role focuses on learning approved repair methods, tool usage, technical documentation, and aviation structural maintenance procedures while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine maintenance and teardown of aircraft structural components
  • Perform basic visual inspections for cracks, corrosion, and structural deformation
  • Follow technical manuals, work instructions, and lead technician guidance
  • Support installation and removal of aircraft parts and hardware
  • Perform basic sheet metal tasks including drilling, deburring, and riveting under supervision
  • Document work performed using standardized forms and digital systems
  • Maintain tools, workstations, and safety procedures
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and skill development
  • Support structural repair operations while maintaining quality and compliance standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school or mechanical/metalwork experience preferred
  • No aviation experience required — training provided
  • Candidates must meet U.S. Person requirements due to export control regulations
  • Position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Previous aviation, automotive, sheet metal, fabrication, or mechanical experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn aircraft structures repair methods
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and structural repair documentation
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and sheet metal tools preferred
  • Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs under supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship standards
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines and production schedules
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office or related systems
