Position – Aircraft Structures Technician III
Location: Gilbert, AZ

We are currently seeking Aircraft Structures Technician III candidates to support advanced aircraft structural repair and maintenance operations in Gilbert, AZ. This role is ideal for experienced structural mechanics, sheet metal technicians, or fabrication professionals capable of performing complex repairs independently within a fast-paced MRO environment.

Summary

The Aircraft Structures Technician III performs advanced structural repairs, inspections, and modifications with little to no supervision. This role focuses on executing complex repair methods, interpreting technical data independently, and ensuring all work meets FAA regulations and company quality standards while also supporting team development and mentoring junior technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced structural repairs, teardown, and reassembly of aircraft components
  • Conduct detailed inspections for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and structural damage
  • Interpret and apply manufacturer manuals, engineering drawings, SRMs, CMMs, and technical data independently
  • Perform advanced sheet metal work including layout, fabrication, drilling, and riveting
  • Troubleshoot structural issues and determine appropriate repair methods
  • Install and remove complex structural components and hardware
  • Review and verify work completed by Technician I and II employees
  • Accurately document maintenance and repair activities using required systems and regulatory forms
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with company standards
  • Provide mentorship, training, and technical guidance to junior technicians
  • Support production timelines and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school or mechanical/metalwork experience preferred
  • Advanced structural repair, sheet metal, fabrication, or aviation maintenance experience preferred
  • Candidates must meet U.S. Person requirements due to export control regulations
  • Position is safety-sensitive and subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing
  • Previous aviation structures, heavy sheet metal, fabrication, military aircraft maintenance, or structural repair experience strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced understanding of aircraft structural components, systems, and repair techniques
  • Strong knowledge of structural tools, equipment, and inspection methods
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical data such as SRMs, CMMs, drawings, and specifications independently
  • Experience performing advanced inspections, fabrication, and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with superior workmanship standards
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and in fast-paced maintenance environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related documentation systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to mentor, lead, and support junior technicians
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, and perform physical maintenance tasks throughout the shift
