Description
We are seeking an experienced Airfield Electrician with a strong background in Airfield Systems and NAVAIDs to support aviation infrastructure projects across the U.S. This role is ideal for a skilled electrical professional with hands-on experience in navigational aid systems, airfield lighting, FAA compliance standards, and medium/high-voltage electrical work.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of electrical experience, including at least 2 years working directly on airfield systems or navigational aids. Candidates must be open to travel for project durations ranging from 2â8 months.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airfield electrical and navigational aid systems
Work on systems including:
Runway and taxiway lighting
Approach lighting systems
PAPI/VASI systems
Rotating beacons
Airfield signage and guidance systems
VOR and related NAVAID systems
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and calibration of electrical systems
Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently
Install and upgrade wiring, lighting fixtures, control panels, and related infrastructure
Ensure compliance with FAA standards, safety regulations, and project specifications
Coordinate with field teams, airport operations personnel, and project leadership to minimize operational disruptions
Utilize tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools in the field
Required Qualifications
5+ years of electrical experience
Minimum 2 years of direct experience with Airfield Systems or NAVAIDs
Strong understanding of:
Airfield lighting systems
PAPI systems
VHF/VOR navigation systems
Electrical troubleshooting and circuitry
Aviation safety and FAA standards
Ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S. for project assignments
Valid driverâs license and reliable transportation
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in team environments
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification
OSHA certifications or safety training
Experience with medium- to high-voltage systems
Previous airport, aviation, FAA-funded, or transportation infrastructure experience
Experience working alongside airport operations and construction crews
