The AirLife Adult/Pediatric Transport Team Nurse utilizes their experience, education, and training to both autonomously and collaboratively deliver critical care to critically ill and/or injure patients aboard fixed-wing aircraft, and ground ambulance between medical facilities or directly from the scene of an accident or illness. The Adult/Pediatric Transport Nurse provide care to a broad age range of patients from infants to geriatric patients.
• Coordinates, delivers, and documents all aspects of patient care in collaboration with referral teams, physicians, AirLife team members, patients, and families while adhering to established standards of care and scope of practice.
• Works autonomously and collaboratively, adhering to AirLife clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures with minimal support.
• Maintains confidentiality of PHI in accordance with AirLife, HCA, and HIPAA standards.
• Demonstrates awareness of and routinely practices safe work habits and adheres to the AirLife Commitment to Safety.
• Maintains proficiency in flight physiology, general aircraft, and ambulance safety operations, and emergency procedures.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives including chart reviews, data collection, and process improvement.
• Supports the mission of AirLife and HCA including the pillars of Safety, Service, Quality, People, and Growth and adheres to the AirLife Rules of the Game
• Participates in outreach activities including transport safety and clinical education.
• Completes orientation requirements within an appropriate timeframe as determined by AirLife Leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
