Airport Airside Operations Supervisor

The Airport Airside Operations Supervisor performs a variety of airport operations duties required by Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies that include monitoring and coordinating all operational activity occurring in the Airside Operations areas to ensure compliance with FAA Part 139, TSA 1542, and Airport regulations and policies. Interacts with a variety of personnel including co-workers, tenants, contractors, and consultants. Essential in assisting the COO in scheduling, supervising, and maintaining operational oversight of the Airside Operations Agents.

• Ensures airport compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 139 and Department of Homeland Security - TSA 49 CFR Part 1542 regulations. Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including Advisory Circulars, Cert Alerts, FAA Orders, and Security Directives. Ensures the Airport Certification Manual (ACM) remains current and recommends updates as necessary. Maintains required certifications, including Commercial Mosquito Control, consistent with state and federal standards.
• Conducts multiple daily inspections of runways, taxiways, safety areas, ramps, and perimeter fencing to ensure compliance with safety and security standards. Identifies deficiencies and initiates corrective actions, including maintenance work orders. Maintains accurate airfield inspection documentation and operational records. Initiates and logs Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) as required.
• Implements and oversees wildlife hazard mitigation activities, including wildlife dispersal, operation and maintenance of wildlife control devices, and coordination of required depredation permits. Ensures accurate recordkeeping of wildlife activities and maintains compliance with FAA wildlife hazard management requirements.
• Coordinates and monitors construction and maintenance projects within operational areas to ensure the safety of aircraft and personnel. Reviews project safety plans for compliance with airport policies and regulatory requirements. Maintains communication with the Air Traffic Control Tower and coordinates airfield projects with Air Traffic Controllers. Provides airside escorts, operates department vehicles and equipment, and serves as the airport representative during construction activities and in the absence of senior operations personnel.
• Directly assists in supervising Airside Operations Agents by scheduling shift coverage, assigning operational tasks, and providing coaching and training to support employee development. Serves as backup in the absence of an Airport Operations Agent to ensure continuity of operations.
• Serves as back-up in the absence of an Airport Airside Operations Agent.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
