Pay: $20.00/hour

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant's

experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Operate under the direction of the Chief Engineer or his/her designee, the Apprentice shall act as an Engineer, except working a shift without at least one Journeyman Operating Engineer present to oversee his/her activities. Such duties include, but are not limited to, operating all heating and air conditioning equipment, pumps, air compressors, generators, fan systems, and other mechanical related equipment. Also, other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

The Apprentice Engineer must be a current member and remain a member of Local 399's Engineer Apprentice Program.

  • High school or technical school graduate.

  • Meet requirements as prescribed in Stationary Engineers Apprenticeship Program.

  • Previous experience operating and maintaining central utility services equipment and systems.

  • Knowledge of methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining central utility services equipment and systems.

  • Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used.

  • Ability to keep simple records of activities performed.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.

  • Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly, and safe condition.
