Minimum Qualifications
Eighth grade. One year of experience in operating medium and/or heavy-duty automotive or medium and/or heavy-duty construction equipment such as 5,000 to 10,000 pound tractor trailers, light tractors, truck-mounted sweepers, tractor-mounted scrubbers, water tank trucks, backhoes, front loaders or similar equipment is required. Must possess a CDL/Class A with Air-Brakes testing. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment. Must be able to work a permanent or rotating shift schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.

The Airport Automotive Equipment Operator 2 is a skilled heavy equipment operator responsible for supporting airport maintenance operations. Candidates must possess a valid CDL Class A with Tanker endorsement and have experience operating medium- and heavy-duty equipment, including bobcats, forklifts, rollers, backhoes, front-end loaders, and dump trucks with trailers. The position requires the ability to perform daily vehicle inspections, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including night shifts, respond to emergency call-outs, and work effectively as part of a team.
