    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor s degree. Three years of experience in local, state, or federal government legislative affairs or aviation industry legislative affairs to include supervisory experience are required. Additional experience in local, state, or federal government legislative affairs or aviation industry legislative affairs to include supervisory experience may substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.

    The Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative professional to serve as the Airport Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in advancing the Departments strategic priorities by fostering and maintaining effective partnerships with federal, state, regional, and local government agencies, elected officials, regulatory organizations, and aviation stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as the Departments liaison on intergovernmental matters, coordinating legislative and regulatory initiatives that impact airport operations, infrastructure development, funding opportunities, and compliance. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing proposed legislation and policy changes; coordinating airport-related grant and funding initiatives; representing the Department in intergovernmental meetings, hearings, and public forums; and leading cross-jurisdictional projects involving transportation, environmental compliance, emergency preparedness, and capital improvements. The position also prepares executive briefings, policy analyses, and strategic communications for senior leadership while facilitating collaboration among internal divisions and external partners to resolve complex interagency issues. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, along with demonstrated experience navigating complex governmental and regulatory environments in support of large, multifaceted organizations

    Airport Security

    Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
