Recruitment Notes
Miami-Dade Aviation is seeking an employee skilled in maintenance and supervisory work, including planning, and directing Airport Facilities Maintenance operations at Miami International Airport and general aviation airports.
An employee in this class plans, assigns, and supervises the work of trades personnel, maintenance mechanics, repairers, and laborers, and often performs more difficult maintenance tasks. Employees need a high degree of skill and broad knowledge of several trades, including mechanical and electrical work, and other related maintenance skills. They assign and inspect subordinates' work to ensure it meets departmental standards. The work requires considerable independent judgment in setting job priorities and selecting the methods and materials used to complete assigned tasks. A maintenance superintendent or administrative superior supervises all work and holds the employee accountable for effective maintenance activities in the assigned area.
