About the job opportunity
Transport Canada has a career opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to lead our Wabush Airport Team. The establishment is one of the small airports owned by Transport Canada offering local, regional or remote service. The position requires an individual who can provide a high level of leadership and supervision. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
The incumbent will have the following functions:
Intent of the process
The intention of this selection process is to staff the position of Airport Manager at the Wabush Airport, in Labrador.
A pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff positions with similar requirements at the same group and level at Transport Canada.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Experience in airport operations and maintenance activities.
EX2: Experience in the supervision of staff within an operational area which includes employee performance and labour relation management.
EX3: Experience in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders or clients.
EX4: Professional experience in budget management.
EX5: Experience in the application or interpretation of legislation, policies, regulations, directives or standards.
EX6: Experience in the management of issues and in formulating strategic recommendations and presenting briefing documents for management or executives.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AEX1: Experience in emergency response or planning involving multiple stakeholders.
AEX2: Experience in the management of Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (ARFF) in an airport environment.
ASSET KNOWLEDGE:
AK1: Knowledge of acts and regulations relating to Canadian Airports.
AK2: Knowledge of Canada Labour Code Part II.
AK3: Knowledge of airport operations and maintenance activities.
AK4: Knowledge of Transport Canada's Aerodromes Standards and Recommended Practices (TP 312) or Criteria for the Development of Instrument Procedures (TP308/GPH209).
AK5: Knowledge of environmental hazards and protection practices.
