Minimum Qualifications
Eighth grade. Two years of experience painting building structures, fixtures, and equipment are required. Must obtain a CDL/Class B within the one-year probationary period. Duties require working from bucket trucks, lifts and scaffolding at heights. Must be able to work a permanent or rotating shift schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to, fingerprint checks, employment verification, and such other procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
Recruitment Notes
This position is responsible for day-to-day activities of employees in the Painting Shop. They will be required to paint airport building, fixtures, and equipment throughout Miami Dade Aviation Department. Work involves preparation of surfaces and materials for painting; remove dirt, rust, scales, old paint, and grease. Mixing and matches paints, using the proper proportions of pigment, base, and thinner. This position will be responsible for receiving verbal jobs as well as work orders and emergencies. All work must be completed within a timely manner. Occasionally they can be called to perform a variety of other tasks closely related to painting assignments: cutting old caulking compounds and inserting new, remove and replace broken glass, waterproofing to building. Standing, bending, and lifting to 50 pounds.
