Job Title: Akamai Engineer Automation & Edge Platform W2 position
Location: Malvern, PA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 days onsite per week

Role Summary
We are seeking an Akamai Engineer to design, automate, and support Akamai edge services that enable secure, reliable, and scalable delivery of the client's internet-facing applications.
This hands-on individual contributor role involves platform engineering, automation, production support, and collaboration with application, network, and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
Akamai Platform Engineering
- Configure and manage Akamai services, including edge properties, routing, and security controls.
- Onboard applications to the Akamai platform while ensuring adherence to established standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting application performance, availability, and security.
Automation & CI/CD
- Develop and maintain automation for Akamai platform provisioning and configuration.
- Integrate Akamai capabilities into CI/CD pipelines using APIs and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Support and enhance governed workflows, including GitHub pipelines, validation checks, and approval gates.
- Identify repetitive processes and implement automation to reduce manual effort.
Operational Support & Reliability
- Support production operations and participate in incident response for edge services.
- Identify recurring issues and implement improvements to platform stability and efficiency.
- Ensure deployments comply with change management, risk, and compliance standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with application, network, and security teams to deliver Akamai solutions.
- Guide teams adopting Akamai automation workflows.
- Work with stakeholders to align solutions with team and business goals.
- Stay current with Akamai capabilities, automation tools, and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with CDN, edge, or application delivery platforms; Akamai experience preferred.
- Experience with scripting or programming using Python or similar languages.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
