The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of fire alarm systems applicable NFPA codes and customer-service skills.This position provides reliable high-quality customer support through on-site installation repair replacement and preventive maintenance of fire alarm equipment from a variety of manufacturers. Work is performed in accordance with NFPA requirements applicable codes and company quality standards.This is a non-union position. The salary range for this position is 40.00-60.00 per hour depending on experience.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalysis and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems including Ground-Faults Shorts Wire Integrity Termination Panel Fuses Battery Testing and much moreProgram dialers for monitoring. Phone line traditional and cell phone monitoring skills neededComplete basic repairs and installations including moves adds relocates for all types of systems and devicesComplete service and deficiency reports using a computer or iPadInteract with clients field personnel and fire marshalsRead and interpret blueprints drawings specifications and applicable code requirementsCoordination with other disciplines engineers general contractors and end usersDaily communications with Project Manager andor Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays requirements and general status of jobsResponsible for training apprentices on Company procedures systems inspection and installation techniquesAll work is performed to NFPA and Company standards with quality inspection and installation techniques practicedJob QualificationsWorking Knowledge of NFPA codes including NFPA 72 is requiredHigh School Diploma GED requiredPrior Fire Alarm Service Experience requiredAbility to read blueprints and use electronic reporting and documentation softwareStrong troubleshooting skills related to fire alarm and life-safety systemsStrong communication and customer-service skillsAbility to pass a post-offer drug test background and reference checkPreferred QualificationsNICET Level I or II certification.Manufacturer certifications including Gamewell FCI and Honeywell.Knowledge of Factory Mutual FM requirements and other applicable codes.OSHA 30 certification.Experience with VESDA and clean agent systems.California Fire Life Safety Certification Blue Card".Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodationRegular bending reaching climbing and walkingAll qualified applicants with Western States Fire Protection Company will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex sexual orientation and gender identity national originor status as a qualified individual with a disability or protected veteran.VEVRAA Federal ContractorAccessibility If you need help accessing this page please contact Phone 1-877-252-2168Email
