About the Role:
VMS Security Services is looking for a skilled Alarm Service Technician to join our growing team in Farmingville, NY. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a critical part in keeping homes and businesses safe by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting alarm and security systems. Responsibilities:

• Install, program, and configure residential and commercial alarm and security systems
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system testing
• Diagnose and troubleshoot alarm system malfunctions and equipment failures
• Repair or replace faulty components including sensors, control panels, and keypads
• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
• Educate customers on proper system operation and best practices
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventory

Requirements:

• Prior experience installing or servicing alarm, fire, or security systems preferred
• Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, control panels, and intrusion detection systems
• NYS Alarm Installer License or ability to obtain one is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule
