Member Service Role (Host Site Overview - Condensed) The member supports marine safety, public health, and community outreach benefiting commercial fishermen and maritime workers in Southeast Alaska. The role is flexible, spanning public health coordination, outreach, commercial fishing safety research, and emerging projects. A key focus is assisting AMSEA's opioid overdose prevention efforts through coordination, materials development, surveys, tracking, and distributing wellness and response resources. The member may help with community-based research informed by Indigenous and local knowledge in partnership with fishermen, Elders, and research institutions. Additional duties include capacity-building for grants, communications, youth and community program support, administrative tasks, and gear logistics. All service occurs under staff supervision, without providing clinical care or displacing employees.
