Supporting quality, safety, compliance, accreditation, and regulatory readiness
Developing strong relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing leaders, and department directors
Working with Tribal organizations, public agencies, regional partners, schools, emergency services, and community groups
Supporting culturally respectful, community-informed healthcare delivery
Leading through vacancies, transitions, weather events, transportation disruptions, or other operational challenges
Improving communication, accountability, employee engagement, and organizational culture
Supporting infrastructure, housing, technology, telehealth, equipment, and capital needs
Strengthening relationships between village-based care, regional hospitals, and specialty resources
Advocating for the organization and the communities it serves at the regional, state, and federal levels
Ensuring the organization remains responsive, financially sustainable, and connected to its mission
Qualifications will vary by opportunity, but organizations may seek:
Progressive executive leadership experience in healthcare
Previous experience as a CEO, administrator, COO, CFO, CNO, executive director, or senior healthcare leader
Strong financial, operational, strategic, and organizational leadership skills
Experience working with boards, governing bodies, Tribal leadership, or public entities
Experience leading rural hospitals, Critical Access Hospitals, FQHCs, Tribal health organizations, regional health systems, long-term care organizations, or community healthcare programs
Knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement, compliance, quality, workforce, and regulatory requirements
Experience leading through organizational change, financial pressure, workforce shortages, or operational instability
The ability to build strong relationships across clinical, operational, executive, and community teams
Experience supporting services across multiple facilities or large geographic regions may be valuable
Experience working with Alaska Native communities, Tribal health organizations, Indian Health Service programs, or tribally operated systems may be highly valued for some roles
A leadership style grounded in humility, transparency, accountability, collaboration, and community presence
Relevant education, certifications, and executive experience based on the specific organization and role
The ability to relocate, travel regionally, or work within a rotational structure when required
