ALASKA TECHNICAL TRAINER I

The Technical Trainer I, will develop, coordinate, and deliver training to Nabors personnel in support of the company's competency program and business objectives. This position will include travel as required.

Location: Anchorage, Alaska (On-Site)

Travel: Regular travel to and from the North Slope

• 1 to 3 years of related experience repairing and troubleshooting Nabors/Canrig equipment or 1 to 3 years of repairing and troubleshooting non-Nabors equipment.
• 2 years delivering training either formally or through mentoring.
• Proven interpersonal skills; ability to work productively and professionally with any level of business resources.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to convey business and/or technical concepts to all levels of the organization and to customers.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and effectively interact with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent multi-tasking, organization, time-management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively develop course curriculum and deliver training courses.
• Strong Project Management skills: managing project plans, milestones, tasks, etc.
• Willing and able to travel to domestic and international locations as required.
• Willing and able to work hours necessary to meet deadlines and respond to emergency demands.
• Dependable and adaptable to change.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to clear all onboarding requirements (i.e MVR/background check, drug & alcohol testing)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Field Support

• Experience with oilfield service companies.
• Experience as a teacher, trainer or mentor.

Administrative (Corporate Environment)

• Bachelor's Degree (Organizational Development, Training & Development, Adult Learning, Education, Human Resources, Business Management, or Business Administration will be top considerations) or equivalent work experience.
• 1 to 3 years' experience working within Organizational Development, Human Resources, or Training & Development.
• Business Skills training experience.

Field Support

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and listen.
• The employee is required frequently to use hands and digits to handle or feel work material and type.
• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to walk short distances, sometimes over uneven terrain.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs occasionally, 20lbs frequently, and 5 to 10lbs daily.
• Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment which may include but is not limited to safety-toed footwear (with ankle height support), back support belt, hearing protection, and safety eyewear with side shields, gloves and hard hat.
• May occasionally be required to wear approved/applicable respiratory protection equipment (respiratory protection guidelines would apply with regard to medical evaluation and fit testing of equipment).
• Frequent assent/decent of stairs/steps, especially at field locations. Must be able to respond quickly to an emergency situation.
• Employee may be exposed to moderate noise levels; however, field locations may be a high level whereby appropriate hearing protection may be required.
• Building AC/Heating systems are a typical "closed loop" system. Field locations may range in temperature of below zero (0) to above one hundred (100) degrees, depending upon time of year, with varying levels of humidity.
• Field locations maybe dusty, wet or muddy depending upon weather conditions.

Administrative (Corporate Environment)

• Standing and moving comfortably about the room to perform multi-day training functions.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs on occasion, 5 to 10 pounds frequently
• Sitting for long periods of time using office equipment for example, Computers, Printers, Laminators, etc.
• Moving tables and chairs to set up workshop layout on occasion.
• Deliver training designed to improve the knowledge & skills of employees in conjunction with defined competencies and learning objectives.
• Develop curriculums, agendas, materials, and assessments for training courses.
• Identify learning and development needs and provide effective training solutions.
• Assist in the development and testing of online and web-based training.
• Work with Training Coordinators, Training Administrators, and Administration Assistants on the production and delivery of training materials in a timely manner.
• Work with Training Coordinators, Training Administrators, and Administration Assistants to develop and communicate training schedules.
• Have a willingness to learn subjects outside the core field of expertise and be able to deliver basic training in a variety of subjects as required.
• Always insure the health and safety of all employees attending training courses.
• Perform all post-course follow-up as required.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
