The ALDOT Environmental Specialist, Senior - Biology Option is a permanent, full-time position with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Positions are located in Montgomery, AL. This is advanced environmental assessment work involving supervision, monitoring, and reviewing subordinates and consultants. Employees in this class plan, prioritize, and supervise the work of Environmental Specialists conducting biologic assessments of proposed ALDOT activities. Employees supervise and conduct ecological research to include wetland evaluations and mitigation, endangered species evaluation, hazardous materials investigation, water quality research, and departmental compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
