The instructional aide will work under the direct supervision of the ALE Teacher to implement behavioral supports, manage complex behaviors, and foster an environment of dignity and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Small Group & 1-on-1 Instruction: Support learning through an online learning management system, following the teacher's lead.
Data Collection: Accurately track student progress on course completion and behavioral interventions using daily logs or digital charts.
Crisis Intervention: Implement approved de-escalation techniques for students experiencing emotional dysregulation or aggressive outbursts.
Positive Reinforcement: Consistently apply behavior intervention strategies to encourage prosocial skills and functional communication.
Social Coaching: Model and facilitate appropriate social interactions between students.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree or 60+ college credits preferred (or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment).
Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
