Alibaba Cloud Intelligence-Solution Architect-Sports

About the Role As a Solutions Architect at Alibaba Cloud, you will partner closely with our sales and business development teams to drive customer success and exceed revenue goals through the strategic adoption of Alibaba Cloud services-including our industry-leading AI, data analytics, and cloud infrastructure solutions. You'll serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers in the sports industry, guiding them through cloud transformation, application modernization, and intelligent innovation powered by Alibaba Cloud and the Tongyi ecosystem.

Engage C-level conversations with executives from International Federations (IFs), Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) of major events, professional leagues, global franchises, and sports governing bodies. Position Alibaba Cloud as a strategic technology innovation partner-not just a vendor-by articulating a compelling vision for AI-driven transformation in sports operations, fan engagement, and broadcast. Build and orchestrate an integrated ecosystem of Alibaba Cloud, Tongyi AI, and third-party technologies to deliver end-to-end solutions tailored to the unique demands of the sports industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to formulate and execute a technical sales strategy that accelerates cloud adoption in Alibaba Cloud.
• Lead hands-on architectural engagements to design, build, and migrate applications, platforms, and workloads onto Alibaba Cloud-ensuring performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Educate customers on the transformative value of Alibaba Cloud, including differentiated capabilities in AI (e.g., Tongyi Qwen, WAN), real-time analytics, elastic computing, and potential hybrid cloud solutions.
• Conduct workshops and technical sessions (in-person or virtual) to accelerate customer understanding and confidence in deploying on Alibaba Cloud.
• Capture, document, and share best practices, reference architectures, and lessons learned across the global Alibaba Cloud Solutions Architecture.
• Contribute to customer-facing content such as solution design, white papers, blog posts, and demo assets that showcase successful use cases and technical excellence.
• Build trusted relationships with senior technical decision-makers and champions within customer organizations, empowering them to become advocates for cloud and AI innovation.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers and internal Alibaba Cloud teams-including Sales, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Finance-to design compliant, secure, and operationally viable solutions that deliver tangible impact.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 20-30%) to meet customers, attend events, or support key deals.Basic Qualifications
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, or consulting on cloud-based applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Deep technical expertise in one or more core domains such as cloud computing, software development, systems engineering, data & analytics, AI/ML, networking, or cybersecurity.
• Professional experience in IT development, systems integration, or technical consulting within the software, internet, media, or digital entertainment sectors-with exposure to high-scale, real-time environments typical in sports, live events, or broadcasting.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience architecting scalable cloud infrastructures, including database systems (relational and NoSQL), big data services, content delivery networks (CDNs), and low-latency networking architectures-ideally supporting live video, fan engagement platforms, ticketing systems, or athlete analytics systems.
• Familiarity with major public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI); experience with Alibaba Cloud services and the Tongyi ecosystem is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with technical stakeholders in sports organizations-including leagues, teams, broadcasters, event organizers, or sports tech vendors.
• Understanding of key sports industry workflows, systems, and platforms.
