    Job Title: Athletic Director/Athletic Coach

    Reports To: School Principal

    FLSA Status: Stipend

    Job Summary

    The Athletic Director/Athletic Coach is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a competitive and educational athletic program that promotes student-athlete development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. The coach ensures compliance with district, conference, and state athletic regulations while fostering a safe and inclusive environment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and training sessions.
    • Instruct student-athletes in the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
    • Promote academic achievement, discipline, and positive character among student-athletes.
    • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, games, and travel.
    • Supervise student-athletes at all times during team-related activities.
    • Collaborate with the Athletic Director on scheduling, equipment needs, and program operations.
    • Maintain accurate records, including eligibility, attendance, and inventory.
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and administration.
    • Model and enforce good sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
    • Ensure compliance with all district policies, state athletic association guidelines, and applicable laws.
    • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions.
    • Bus Driver

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Prior coaching experience or participation in the sport preferred.
    • Knowledge of sport-specific skills, rules, and conditioning techniques.
    • Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
    • Completion of required background checks and district clearances.

    Working Conditions

    • Work is performed in indoor and outdoor athletic settings.
    • Requires evening, weekend, and travel commitments.
    • Exposure to varying weather conditions.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to demonstrate athletic skills and techniques.
    • Standing, walking, running, and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds.

    Terms of Employment

    • Employment is seasonal and contingent upon program needs, student participation, and Board approval.
    • Compensation is based on the district's approved coaching supplement schedule.

    Evaluation

    Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies and procedures by the Athletic Director and/or School Principal.
