Job Description:
Hartford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated leader to serve as Assistant Director of Alternative Programming at HOPE, Office of Student Support Services, managing the daily operations of HOPE Academy and our Student Support and Success Centers. Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Support Services, this Assistant Director will build capacity with school staff, secure community partnerships, and ensure every student is on track for postsecondary success through equitable, restorative practices.
What youll do: Lead and oversee alternative education and personalized pathway programs, drive strategies to improve attendance, engagement, and graduation outcomes, use data to guide continuous improvement, supervise and coach staff, and build partnerships with families and community organizations.
What you bring: A masters degree in education and 5+ years of successful teaching experience, strong data and progress-monitoring skills, staff supervision experience, and a commitment to equitable, student-centered practice. CT Intermediate Administrative Certification (092) required; bilingual candidates preferred.
Compensation: $137,101-$146,249 (HPSA Group 11, 2026-2027 schedule), plus tuition reimbursement, residency differential, and a comprehensive benefits package.
