Executive Director of School Leadership for the High Schools and Adult Education

Hartford Public Schools is seeking an experienced and equity-centered instructional leader to serve as Executive Director of School Leadership for the High Schools and Adult Education. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, this role is at the heart of our work to elevate principal leadership and improve student outcomes across our high schools and adult education programs.

What youll do:

• Coach, supervise, and evaluate school principals/directors across high schools and adult education
• Drive school improvement through data, instructional walkthroughs, and School Quality Reviews
• Align central office resources and supports to school-level priorities
• Build a culture of growth, accountability, and high expectations for both leaders and students

What were looking for:

• A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a school principal
• Advanced degree in educational leadership or a related field
• Connecticut Intermediate Administration or Supervision certification (092) required
• A deep commitment to equity, urban education, and the Hartford community

Salary: $169,209 - $182,473, in accordance with the HPSA salary schedule. This position is a 12-month role, evaluated annually.

Financial Incentives:

• Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 annually
• Residency Differential: 3% of base salary for certified administrators (HPSA members) living in Hartford
• Differential for Doctorate in Education: $2,500 annually
