Position Description: Health Aide

Location: Leonard J. Tyl Middle School

Reports to: Head Nurse with general supervision from School Nurse

Salary and terms of Employment:

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

10-Month Position

Daily Schedule: 10:00 A.M.-1:30 P.M. M-F (up to 17.50 hours per week)

Range - $21.57 per hour

Performance Responsibilities:

• Follow oral and written directions from the School Nurse.
• Follows established procedures in the administration of first aid and treatment.
• Under the direction of the School Nurse, prioritizes work within assigned areas.
• Communicate with parents, School Nurse, or ambulance as needed.
• Provide information and advice to students on health and hygiene matters.
• Distribute emergency health forms to students.
• Review student health folders and record new information on health forms as needed.
• Assist in maintaining supply inventory for nurse's office, check in supply orders as assigned.
• Provide and replenish first aid kits for classrooms and physical education as needed.
• Maintain orderly files of health and student records.
• Photocopy records for student transfers.
• Assure that all students requiring medication have received it from an authorized adult.
• Assist in registration of all incoming students.
