Job Description

Located in an idyllic setting in the northernmost corner of Fairfield County, Connecticut, The Sherman School is a small PK-8 school with approximately 250 students and 80 dedicated faculty and staff members. We offer small class sizes and wonderful resources to support our programs.

Position: Homebound Tutor Broad Function: Homebound Tutors provide tutoring services to students who are unable to attend school. Hours vary based on student need.

Duties:

• Various hours, times, grade levels, and subject areas.
• Work 1:1 with student at public library or home.
• Document work completed.
• Maintain communication with Department of Student Services and Special Education.

Supervised By: Pupil Services

Qualification Profile:

• Bachelors Degree required.
• Candidate should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a good rapport with students and possess a personable relationship with teachers.

Consideration will be given to the following:

• Ability to carry out directions in both oral and written form.
• Various life/work experiences that contribute to the candidates overall preparedness.
• Prior experience working with school age children.

Pay: $40/hr
