Long Term Substitute Assistant Teacher

Title: Substitute Assistant Teacher - Family Resource Center (FRC) Pre-K

Department: Family Resource Center / Early Childhood Education

FLSA Status: Non-Union / Non-Represented, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Head Teacher, under the supervision of the Director of Early Childhood

Hourly Rate: $17.59 - $23.25; plus benefits

Position Overview:

The Assistant Teacher supports the implementation of the Family Resource Center (FRC) Pre-K program by assisting with daily classroom activities and supervising children in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. The Assistant Teacher works collaboratively with the Head Teacher to ensure the classroom reflects the mission and philosophy of the FRC and Branford Public Schools Early Childhood Department.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred (12 credits or more).
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.

• Ability to work effectively with young children in a classroom setting.
