Job Description:Minimum Requirements:Registered nurse (RN) currently licensed in MarylandTwo (2) years of nursing experience, with one (1) year to include caring for the elderly/ chronically ill within the past five (5) yearsOne (1) year experience in long-term careTwo (2) years of teaching experience or sixteen (16) hours of instruction in the principles of adult educationActual teaching experience (supervisory experience over other nurses may be considered)Eligible for Maryland State Department of Education CertificationFirst Aid and CPR instructor certificationUnderstanding and enforcement of HIPPA regulationsKnowledge of Public Health Standards and ProceduresUnderstanding of Board of Nursing regulations and requirements (Nurse Practice Act)Familiarity with Certified Nursing Assistant and Geriatric Nursing Assistant ProgramsFamiliarity with COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations) as they apply to the CNA and GNA training programsExcellent written and verbal skillsOutstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to interact successfully with diverse stakeholders (i.e., students, staff, administration, parents, general public, community agencies, etc.)Proficiency in a variety of technology and applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office SuiteSuccessful management of confidential information and materialsHistory of initiative, discretion, and independent judgmentRegular and predictable attendanceAbility to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without reasonable accommodationsDuties and Responsibilities: The following duties and responsibilities are intended only as examples.
