Description

A health services organization is seeking an Allocation & Placement Coordinator I (APC I) to support organ allocation and placement in a fully remote, phone-based environment. This role focuses on time-sensitive clinical coordination, accurate documentation, and communication with transplant centers and clinical teams.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift or night shift

  • Schedule: Full-time; Monday through Sunday, with weekends and holidays scheduled on a rotating basis

  • Hours: Four 10.5-hour shifts per week; 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM, 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM, or 9:30 PM - 8:00 AM

  • Setting: Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls related to organ allocation and placement

  • Receive, review, and manage organ offers in coordination with transplant centers and clinical teams

  • Document allocation decisions, donor information, and related medical records accurately and promptly

  • Apply OPTN and UNOS policies and allocation processes in a fast-paced, regulated environment

  • Communicate time-sensitive updates clearly and professionally while working independently

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with organ allocation and placement

  • Experience with thoracic and/or abdominal organ allocation

  • Experience working within an Organ Procurement Organization or transplant program

  • Experience receiving and managing organ offers

  • Knowledge of OPTN and UNOS policies and allocation processes

  • Experience with high-volume inbound and outbound phone communication

  • Experience with electronic donor documentation and medical records

  • Experience with time-sensitive clinical communication and decision-making

  • Ability to stay highly organized, multitask, and perform in a fast-paced environment

Desired Skills:

  • Background as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Medical Assistant

  • Experience as a Transplant Coordinator, Organ Allocation Coordinator, or Organ Placement Coordinator

  • Familiarity with CMS and New York regulations

  • Experience working independently with minimal training

  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert or preceptor
