Position Overview

Alternative Assets Specialists support investment and portfolio teams by researching, evaluating, and monitoring alternative investment strategies and assets. The role emphasizes long-term analysis, portfolio diversification, and risk-adjusted return assessment, rather than public-market trading or real-time execution.

These professionals collaborate closely with investment teams, portfolio strategy, risk, operations, and external managers or advisors across the alternative investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support evaluation of alternative investment opportunities across multiple asset classes

• Conduct market, sector, and strategy-level research for alternative assets

• Assist with investment screening, due diligence support, and opportunity tracking

• Monitor portfolio exposure, performance, and diversification across alternative strategies

• Support valuation processes and performance measurement for illiquid assets

• Contribute to asset allocation and portfolio construction analysis involving alternatives

• Prepare investment materials, summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders

• Support manager research, monitoring, and comparative analysis

• Maintain internal databases, dashboards, and reporting related to alternative assets

• Assist with investor reporting and responses to alternative investment data requests

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field

• Strong interest in alternative investments and portfolio diversification strategies

• Foundational understanding of private equity, private credit, real assets, or hedge strategies

• Experience or coursework in investment research, valuation, or portfolio analysis (preferred but not required)

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial modeling tools is a plus

• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and long-term projects

• Clear written and verbal communication skills

• Detail-oriented with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
