Job Description:

The Lakeland Union High School District has a full-time alternative education teaching position available for the 2026-2027 school year.

Experience & Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of the content area, demonstrate a passion to educate all students, have a sincere interest in young people, demonstrate a willingness to become an active contributor to the school culture, be an active contributor to our continual school improvement process, possess 21st century technology skills, and have a strong desire to excel as a professional educator.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with a Wisconsin DPI Alternative Education License #1952 preferred, or a certification as a DPI licensed teacher, or willingness to obtain within one year of hire date.

Area Description:

The Lakeland Union High School District is located in Minocqua, nestled in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. The Lakeland area is noted for recreational pursuits including lakes, forests, and a range of seasonal sports, and is also known for its tourism and health facilities.

The Lakeland Union High School District is one of ten union high schools in the State of Wisconsin, providing a comprehensive high school education to students in grades 9-12. It is also the largest geographical school district in the State of Wisconsin, encompassing over 800 square miles. The district is supported by four independent elementary districts and includes parts of Vilas, Oneida, and Iron counties and the reservation of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. The district is home to approximately 720 students and employs nearly 80 professional staff and 40 support staff. The district is governed by a nine-person Board of Education.
