Position Details

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Valid Michigan General Education Secondary Teacher Certification

Prefer Science (DX) 6-12 certification

OR

Minimum Bachelor Degree with a desire to continue education leading to certification

Experience: Prefer three (3) years' experience, working with Alternative High School Students helpful

Role: Enrolling eligible students, completing transcript analysis and student/parent orientations

Developing and implementing individualized programs of instruction/attendance to meet the needs of students in grades 6-12;

Mentoring students in determining their post-secondary goals and implementing appropriate strategies and community agency referrals as needed

Collaborating with school stakeholders and community agencies providing supportive services for students;

Participating as an educational team member for the success of all students;

Maintaining and documenting weekly two-way communication with an assigned student caseload;

Other duties as assigned.
