TITLE: Alumnae/i Relations Student Ambassador

DEPARTMENT: University Advancement

OPEN TO: Dominican University Undergraduate Students

FLSA STATUS: Hourly

HOURLY RATE: 15.00

DATE AVAILABLE: August 2026 - May 2027

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with general alumnae/i inquiries via phone, email, mail, etc., and direct them to the appropriate office
  • Support administrative office tasks, i.e. answering phones, various filing, special projects, etc.
  • Aid in management of the University Advancement database through tracking alumnae/i activities and information updates
  • Check alumnae/i page on LinkedIn for updates and new members.
  • Support the University's death notice process by researching obituaries, tracking information, and mailing invitations for two remembrance masses
  • Proof various letters, mailings, and other print materials for publication
  • Prepare large mailings to alumnae/i
  • Provide campus tours to DU alumnae/i upon request
  • Other projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Greet visitors to the Office of Alumnae/i Relations and/or University Advancement
  • Assist with the execution of events including, but not limited to: Reunion activities, Homecoming, Benefit, Memorial Mass, Holiday Sing, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in Fall 2026 - Spring 2027 semesters
  • Must be in good conduct standing with the Dean of Students

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to be discreet and keep alumnae/i information confidential
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and switch priorities quickly and seamlessly
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a group setting
  • Flexibility and creativity
  • May be required to assist with evening/weekend programs
  • Willingness to learn and perform new tasks
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • A sense of humor

Anticipated Skills you will Build:

  • Interpersonal office skills that will translate to any professional environment
  • Basic database searches and data management
  • Functions of a Development office, i.e. limited fundraising, constituent management, etc.
