    Description

    The Alumni Engagement student clerk provides assistance for programs and events that engage alumni, fans, and friends of the University of Iowa.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Process and assist with program registration by answering phone calls, responding to emails, and entering registrations into the data base 
    • Execute email and mailing preparation and distribution
    • Enter event participant data into constituent database
    • Edit and research information as needed to keep databases and external contact lists updated
    • Conduct research and benchmark for programs and events as necessary 
    • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of special events (in-person and virtual) including  GradFest and commencement activities
    • General office duties and errands as assigned 
    • Support other Alumni and Donor Engagement activities as needed 
    • Performs other responsibilities related to this position  

    Hours per week: Flexible scheduling around your classes, with working hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. primarily Monday through Friday. Some extended days, evenings, and weekends work in various environments.  12-15 hours per week during the academic year (excluding fall and spring breaks, and the first two weeks of winter break). Potentially 20-30 hours per week during the summer.

    Qualifications: Must be a currently enrolled University of Iowa student (minimum of 12 credit hours). Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office programs.  High level of productivity, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently required. Strong customer service, oral and written communication skills when working with internal colleagues and external constituents.

     

    Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently walk up and down stairs and lift boxes/items weighing up to 25 pounds.
