About the Role

As an Alzheimer's & Dementia Companion with Qualicare, you'll provide specialized, patient-centered support for clients living with memory loss and cognitive decline. Working under the guidance of a Care Coordinator, you'll bring structure, comfort, and connection to each day — helping clients feel safe, valued, and understood, while giving their families real peace of mind.

What You'll Do

  • Provide patient, reassuring support with personal hygiene and daily routines
  • Prepare meals suited to client needs and preferences
  • Maintain a clean, calm, and clutter-free living space
  • Accompany clients on outings, errands, and appointments
  • Offer gentle reminders and assistance with medications
  • Support safe mobility and transportation
  • Engage clients in memory-friendly activities, conversation, and companionship
  • Use redirection and calming techniques to help ease confusion, anxiety, or agitation
  • Follow individualized care plans designed around each client's cognitive needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including behavioral and condition changes
What We're Looking For

  • A dementia certification or willingness to obtain
  • Experience with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care is a strong plus
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm presence in challenging moments
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to complete training
  • A clear TB test or chest x-ray
  • Reliable transportation to travel within your service area
  • A working phone and internet access
