Position: Support Staff – Host
Reporting To: General Manager, FOH Manager

Job Summary
Buck & Honey’s is looking for an enthusiastic and personable Host to join our team! Candidates should have AM availability mid-week, and flexible availability for weekend shifts. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age to be considered.
As a member of the support staff, you will play a vital role in creating a unique and memorable experience for our guests. In addition to hosting duties, you may assist in other support roles such as bussing, food running, or dock handling as needed. At Buck & Honey’s, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality with enthusiasm, friendliness, and a personal touch.
Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Interactions
- Act positively and professionally with coworkers, guests, and the public.
- Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
- Answer phones, take reservations, and manage take-out orders.
- Manage the seating chart and coordinate guest seating efficiently.
- Assist with bussing tables as needed.
- Collaborate effectively as a teammate with all coworkers.
Housekeeping
- Maintain pristine cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including host areas.
- Perform regular restroom checks to ensure supplies (paper towels, soap, toilet paper) are adequately stocked and areas are clean.

Education and Experience
- No prior experience required; training will be provided.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team but also independently when needed.
- Excellent customer service skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Accountability for actions and dedication to high-quality service.
- Adaptability to dynamic work environments and changing organizational needs.
- Maintain a high level of grooming, cleanliness, and professional appearance.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn restaurant software and applications.
Working Conditions
- Physical Requirements:
- Active work requiring standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to lift and carry 25-40 lbs. and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Visual acuity to distinguish shapes and ensure safety.
- Hearing ability to effectively communicate and respond to guests and team members.
- Environment:
- Moderate to loud noise levels typical of a restaurant setting.
- Possible exposure to outdoor environmental factors during the summer season.
