    Job Description

Are you the go-to problem-solver on the shop floor?

Picture this: an engineered drawing lands on your bench. You select the right material, load the program, choose the dies, and dial in the Amada brake press. A quick manual program for a simple bend? Done. The Amada laser is humming, parts are cut, shaken out, and sent to the next routing step. A rough edge shows up—you switch to the right deburring method and bring it back to spec. You spot a cycle-time opportunity and tweak the process. That’s the rhythm here.

    What you’ll do

    • Run Amada brake press and Amada laser to produce flat and formed parts that meet blueprint dimensions.
    • Complete setups: install tooling, retrieve preprogrammed instructions, and adjust parameters as needed.
    • Manually program and form simple bends; operate the drill press as needed.
    • Troubleshoot cut quality issues, damaged tools, and machine alarms to minimize downtime.
    • Improve processes to consistently raise quality and reduce cycle time.
    • Use both manual and automatic deburring to meet required finish and quality standards.
    • Shake out laser-cut parts and move them promptly to the next step in the routing.
    • Sort and store raw materials with a forklift and overhead crane.
    • Partner with programmers daily to align on programs, changes, and best practices.
    • Maintain a safe, clean area and complete 5S tasks regularly.

    What makes you successful here

    • Collaborative communicator who thrives on teamwork.
    • Mechanical knack and strong blueprint literacy.
    • Confident with fractional/decimal math and precision tools (calipers, tape measures, micrometers, etc.).
    • Comfortable in ambiguity and able to reset priorities quickly.
    • Detail-obsessed with a quality-first mindset.

    Must-haves

    • 1+ years operating comparable equipment preferred.
    • Capable of lifting/lowering/pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs safely.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • Eligibility guidelines: two (2) or fewer “Inconsistent” ratings on the latest performance review may proceed; three (3) or more “Inconsistent” ratings are not eligible.
    • Any “Unsatisfactory” rating on the most recent review is disqualifying.
    • No more than one (1) documented written warning within the last 12 months.
    • Final attendance warning status is not eligible to proceed.
