Position Summary:

The Ambassador for Career Engagement (ACE) student employment opportunity serves as a critical team member of the Career Engagement Office (CEO). This position will assist with class and organization presentations, support CEO events, meet with students for quick walk-in consultations which will include Handshake questions, getting started on resumes and cover letters, etc. This position will also provide office support for professional staff in CEO. Flexible scheduling is available Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Essential Functions:
Answer incoming calls and greet visitors to the Career Engagement Office.
Assist with questions related to utilization of Handshake, career platform.
Provide an initial overview of career tools available for students - this includes multiple software systems. Assist in developing and facilitation of Social Media campaigns and creation of new marketing materials for CEO events.
Deliver excellent customer service to encourage further use of Career Engagement services.
Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
Willing to participate in a training program for 12-16 hours prior to start of work.
Time commitment of 10-12 hours per week during fall/spring terms.
Desire to make this a productive, career development and employment experience.

Required Qualifications:
Must maintain a cumulative collegiate GPA of at least 2.75.
Must be enrolled full-time at Washburn University and in good academic standing.
Evidence of strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Possess significant attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference for students that have successfully completed 24 credit hours with at least one semester of course work on campus at Washburn University.
