Directs the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, etc. for large and / or multiple clinic (s) or center (s). Accountable for adherence to patient care practice standards, external regulations and accreditations, and overall direction and management of the clinical staff. Provides supervision to students delivering care. Responsible for overseeing the investigation and resolution of patient complaints. May also manage practice or center management operations.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.   • Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor''s Degree in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty
  • Previous management experience (minimum of 5 years) in a complex, multi-faceted healthcare environment
  • Experience supervising in a union environment
  • Previous experience (5+ years) experience working in Women's Health or Surgical Dept
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical office or hospital support operations
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • Experience working with documentation in an Electronic Medical Record and billing systems
  • Strong knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry
  • Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments
  • Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology
  • In depth clinic / center patient care management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services
  • Familiar with the policies, best practices, and standards involved with effective clinic / center administration
  • Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives
