Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an approved 2-year AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure & Certifications:
- New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography (or limited permit)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Current BLS / CPR certification
Experience:
- Open to entry-level candidates; level will be determined based on experience and skill set
- Prior CT experience preferred
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join a fast-paced Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. Under the direction of the Medical Director, Radiologist, and department leadership, the technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
The role involves working with a diverse patient population, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and critical care cases, as well as supporting specialized CT-guided procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging procedures for trauma, emergency, inpatient, and outpatient cases
- Assist with CT-guided interventional procedures as needed
- Prepare patients and ensure proper positioning for accurate imaging
- Monitor patients during procedures, including those in critical condition
- Administer contrast media in accordance with established protocols
- Evaluate and process images to ensure diagnostic quality
- Troubleshoot imaging issues and adjust techniques when necessary
- Adhere to and enforce radiation safety standards in compliance with NY State regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation and support a high standard of patient care
- Participate in ongoing learning and support a teaching environment
