Job Title: Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Albany, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
On-Call: Possible On-Call Requirement

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a high-volume surgical department. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons and the perioperative team by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and ensuring surgical procedures run safely and efficiently. Candidates must be comfortable working in complex surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with required sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
• Perform surgical counts according to facility protocol
• Ensure proper handling of surgical specimens
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and OR turnover
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital policies

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (Required at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation

• Ability to work extended shifts and participate in on-call rotation if required
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
