The University of Virginia's number one ranked Department of Student Health and Wellness (SHW) provides a comprehensive range of medical, mental health, well-being, and disability support services to all enrolled undergraduate and graduate students. The University of Virginia's Student Disability Access Center (SDAC), a unit within the Department of Student Health and Wellness, is seeking a skilled ASL/English Interpreter to facilitate equal access and effective communication across academic and campus environments. The ASL/English Interpreter will provide services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors in classrooms, meetings, events, and other university activities. This position will work closely with SDAC's Assistant Director of d/Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services.

Physical Demands
Job requires frequently traveling (distance: minimum 1 mile/daily). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
