We’re looking for a Group Product Ownerto lead a major Smart Meter 2.0 / AMI modernization programfor a large utility. This is a long‑term role (21+ months) guiding multiple workstreams as the organization upgrades its AMI ecosystem, integrates new platforms, and remediates legacy components.
You’ll oversee 4–6 workstreams, own the end‑to‑end product vision, and act as the bridge between business stakeholders, the SI partner, Solution Architecture, and offshore Agile teams. This role requires someone who understands the realities of AMI delivery — integrations, data flows, remediation, testing, and the cross‑team coordination that keeps everything moving.

What You’ll Lead
Oversee 4–6 AMI/Smart Meter 2.0 workstreams and ensure alignment across the full solution
Own the product roadmap and translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements
Act as the Business Architect for the program, shaping end‑to‑end solution behavior
Partner with the System Integrator and Solution Architect on design decisions and architecture alignment
Drive remediation and integration activities across MDMS, head‑end systems, field devices, and enterprise platforms
Coordinate with offshore development and QA teams to maintain delivery velocity
Manage dependencies, risks, and integration points across the AMI ecosystem
Support governance, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness
Must‑Have Experience
Strong background in AMI / Smart Meter programs (AMI 1.0 or 2.0)
Experience leading multi‑workstream utility or large‑scale technology programs
Ability to function as a Group Product Owner or Business Architect in an Agile environment
Hands‑on experience with integration and remediation across AMI components
Experience working with System Integrators and architecture teams
Comfortable coordinating with offshore teams
Understanding of end‑to‑end AMI solution components (MDMS, head‑end, field devices, integrations)
Nice to Have
Utility industry experience (electric, gas, or water)
Experience with modernization or digital transformation programs
Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and data flows
Other Requirements
Must be US‑based
Able to be onsite in San Diego one week per month
Long‑term leadership role on a flagship Smart Meter 2.0 program
High visibility across business, IT, and SI partners
