Description

Overview:

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. 

 

The AML/CFT Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the organization's Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism program. This role involves performing quality control reviews of complex Broker/Dealer and/or Banking-related AML investigations, analyzing data, and providing feedback and guidance to business units on AML/CFT compliance. The officer will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial crime risks, as well as identifying program and process risk, while maintaining a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices. 

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct secondary reviews of alert and case investigations generated through AML surveillance systems by analyzing customer activity to identify potentially concerning Banking and/or Broker/Dealer-related activity
  • Evaluate work papers, summaries, and narratives to ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to regulatory and procedural standards
  • Identify investigative deficiencies, trends, and procedure/process gaps
  • Maintain detailed case documentation supporting investigative conclusions and reporting decisions by preparing clear and concise summaries of existing reviews to provide investigation-specific and program-level feedback
  • Assist in tracking QC error rates, quality metrics, and remediation activities
  • Support the development and maintenance of Quality Control procedures and testing and sampling methodologies
  • Recommend procedure and process improvements based on findings to enhance investigation quality, efficiency, and regulatory/procedural compliance
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends impacting BSA/AML and Broker/Dealer compliance programs
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Experience in AML/CFT compliance, investigations, or related field; Strong understanding of BSA/AML regulations, OFAC, KYC, and other relevant regulatory requirements; Experience with AML/CFT software, data analytics tools, and case management systems OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Experience in AML/CFT compliance, investigations, or related field; Strong understanding of BSA/AML regulations, OFAC, KYC, and other relevant regulatory requirements; Experience with AML/CFT software, data analytics tools, and case management systems

 

License or Certification Type: CAMS certification, Series 7 and/or Series 24 license

Skill(s): AML/CFT regulatory knowledge, Quality Control methodologies, knowledge of and experience with SEC, FINRA, BSA regulations, Investigative techniques, Data analysis and interpretation, Risk assessment and mitigation, Financial crime risk awareness, Reporting and documentation, Compliance program management, Training and development, and effective written and verbal communication skills

The base pay for this position is generally between $97,000 and $150,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
