We are seeking an experienced AML Operations Analyst to support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in transaction monitoring, alert investigations, due diligence reviews, and compliance operations. This role involves analyzing suspicious activity, conducting customer profile reviews, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with AML regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review and investigate AML alerts generated through Transaction Monitoring and FCRM systems.
Analyze suspicious activity indicators such as structuring, high-volume transactions, unusual customer behavior, and high-risk transactions.
Conduct customer due diligence reviews and verify customer information against existing records.
Review account activity, including 30-day transaction history, to determine the legitimacy of transactions.
Perform research using internal systems and external data sources to identify potential money laundering or fraud risks.
Document investigation findings, supporting evidence, and rationale in accordance with established procedures.
Determine whether alerts should be closed or escalated for further investigation.
Ensure adherence to AML, KYC, BSA, OFAC, and internal compliance policies.
Generate reports, track case metrics, and maintain accurate case documentation.
Respond to stakeholder inquiries and provide timely issue resolution.
Perform quality reviews of analyst narratives and investigation reports.
Required Qualifications
4-6+ years of experience in AML, KYC, Compliance Operations, Financial Crime, or Transaction Monitoring.
Strong knowledge of AML regulations, including BSA, OFAC, KYC, and CDD/EDD requirements.
Experience working with transaction monitoring systems and AML screening tools.
Ability to review alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and prepare escalation recommendations.
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience documenting findings and drafting detailed case narratives.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
CAMS, FCC, ACAMS, or Financial Crime Compliance certification.
Experience with FCRM, Actimize, SAS AML, Oracle Mantas, or similar AML platforms.
Advanced reporting, data analysis, Excel, VBA, SQL, or dashboard reporting experience.
Knowledge of media screening, sanctions screening, and adverse media review.
Experience working with global banking or financial services organizations.
